Dr. Bell Yosef is a Senior Research Associate at the Tachlith Institute. Bell is a researcher and lecturer in the fields of public law. Her research areas include constitutional law, human rights, inter-institutional interaction between government authorities, theories of judicial review and constitutional dialogue theories in particular, legislative studies, law and politics, and constitutional remedies.
Bell completed her research degrees at Tel Aviv University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on mechanisms for promoting constitutional dialogue between the Supreme Court and the Knesset. In this context, Bell developed a dialogical model of constitutional judicial review, which is based on both the existence of effective judicial review and the encouragement of constitutional decision-making among political authorities. For her research, Bell was awarded the President’s Scholarship for Scientific Excellence and Innovation; an Excellence Scholarship from the Institute for U.S. Studies in cooperation with the Fulbright Scholarship; and the Zegla Prize for Outstanding Paper by students at the Tel Aviv University Faculty of Law.
Currently, Bell lectures in various courses in public law and participates in conferences in the field of public law, and her research is published in prominent venues in Israel and worldwide. She serves as Secretary of the Israeli Public Law Association.
