Our Mission

November 1st, 2021

Tachlith – The Institute for Israeli Public Policy seeks to address the complex issues facing Israeli society by developing effective, practical solutions that are not driven by political compromises. Our goal is to make Israel a better place for its citizens and ensure its continued stability and prosperity.

Founded in response to Israel’s growing internal polarization, Tachlith operates from a belief that actionable, state-oriented policy can and must be developed from within the Israeli consensus—guided by the Declaration of Independence and Israel’s identity as a Jewish and democratic state.

As Israel nears its 100th anniversary, the civic crisis—once rooted in healthy ideological debate—has deepened into a societal rift. This crisis, accelerated by divisive rhetoric and social media dynamics, leaves the ideological and political mainstream disoriented, while fringe voices offer simplistic solutions to complex problems.

Tachlith focuses its efforts on mitigating this crisis’s impact on Israel’s political system and decision-making process. We aim to support decision-makers in formulating and implementing effective, consensus-driven public policy.

We are committed to policies grounded in broad Israeli agreement and informed by extensive and thorough research. Every policy initiative we develop begins with a clear objective and is built upon the values of the Declaration of Independence and a shared ethical foundation, using evidence-based discourse and expert insights.

Together with our founders, researchers, and partners in academia and civil society, we see ourselves as part of a broader effort to preserve and strengthen Israel’s success story—from the moment an idea is born until it becomes reality.

This is why we are here. This is our mission.

Yaniv Cohen, head of Tachlith
